Hi !
It's been a while since we told you that the DPIA was going to be published in August. August came and went, and we are already in mid-September, and the DPIA has not been published yet.
Publication in October
I'm here to tell you that it has been delayed a bit more. I can't tell you why just yet, but know that it's because some prerequisites have changed, and we need to adjust it. All this to ensure that the final result will be as good as possible.
"So when is it going to be published???", you might be shouting!
In October. It is almost finished.
This means that some of the things we have shared with you earlier in this newsletter about our conclusions HAVE changed.
Not very much, but there are some nuances that we will tell you about very soon that are important for you to know as you take this DPIA from 80% to 100%.
I apologize for being so cryptic. I actually hate when people say, "I can't tell you why yet, very soon," and now I'm doing just that.
Nordic Collaboration
Another thing I can share is that we recently had a meeting with KS's sister organizations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland. And there is a lot of potential for collaboration.
Our countries are quite similar, and very similarly organized in terms of who is responsible for schools. Our approaches to digitalization are also comparable, so we believe there is a lot to gain from collaborating.
If we get our way, we will collaborate on the next DPIA â assuming we get funding for it.
New Webinars
We have also finalized a new webinar since last time which we think will be very good, namely with TromsĂž municipality.
TromsĂž is not a Google municipality; they use Microsoft 365. The webinar will be a working meeting where TromsĂž and us in the DPIA project sit down and try to adapt the record of processing that we have published for Google Workspace for Education to also apply to Microsoft 365.
We think this will be a really exciting webinar, where we invite you to watch a working meeting. So, if you are responsible for a DPIA in the school sector, and maybe also feel guilty that this work has been neglected for too long, this webinar is for you!
It is a concrete example of what it looks like to work with a DPIA in practice!
When? Monday, October 14, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Register here!
And keep an eye on this page for new webinars. We believe there will be at least one more.
I wish you a wonderful, privacy-friendly week-end!
Best regards,
Ida Thorsrud
Project manager national DPIA
